Fall Greetings

Today we had our first snow! It looks beautiful but it is too early. Summer is definitely over. I love the fall season in Minnesota which is normally warm and amazingly colorful. This year though, it is different.  It looks like we are going directly from summer to winter.

I feel good that I used the summer to work on many projects around the house. I renovated our entrance door with a little guidance from a professional handyman. After that, I worked on our deck, sanding and staining. I am very happy about how it turned out.

Tennis is going well. I started to play in two leagues, singles and doubles. I’m getting great workouts and the best are the companionships of my teammates. We are the “bears”. It is quite an experience for me to play in a team. I’m thankful for it. Go BEARS!

Summer went by so quickly. A visit to the Big Apple was definitely the highlight for me. New York City is often referred to as the greatest city in the world and I understood why. Starting from food to entertainment, convenient traveling etc. this city has endless activities to offer. For me, it was the ethnic and cultural diversity which I experienced in New York City. I would wish I could transfer it to Minnesota.

Of course, we were visiting the One World Trade Center and the 9/11 Memorial. We took the elevator ride to the top of the observatory.  During the ride an incredibly beautiful animated time lapse video was projected on the elevator wall that recreates the development of New York City’s skyline, from 1500 to today. We made a video to the top of the observatory and down to the trade center. Enjoy watching it!

Summer parties, family get together, flowers from the Farmers Market, gardening, traveling - all these wonderful things belonged to summer.

With the first snow arriving I’m wondering what the next months of fall and winter will bring.

Happy Fall Greetings to You All!
